I accepted a job at…

December was the busiest month I’ve had as a freelance multimedia professional. It was awesome! I had commitments almost every single day of the month (minus the holidays, but you could also make a reasonable argument that those too were commitments). Even though I was building momentum and developing a good client base, I wasn’t making enough money to pay down my debt and build up income. So… I decided to accept the offer of a full time job at […]

Rachel B. Studio Headshots

Recently did some headshots for Rachel B. in my studio. She just needed a professional one for her site, so we tried a few variations and came up with this one:

Sarah T. Headshots

I had the great privilege of shooting some headshots for my friend Sarah while I was in Seattle in September. She’s an awesome actress and needed some new headshots for auditions.

Downtown Seattle

I had been wanting to check out Seattle for awhile, as I’ve heard amazing things about it and I’ve got a few friends there that I haven’t seen in years. I was also there to shoot some headshots for my friend Sarah. I’ll post those soon… Here are a few randoms from the first day hanging out in Downtown Seattle. me with the lovely @jenamiller Cops in Seattle do things a little differently! I thought this ATM was interesting/gross!

Vancouver Day 3 – Stanley Park, To and From

By the third day in Vancouver, we were a little worn out from exploring and we were being a bit lazy. We decided to walk to Stanley Park and see what that was all about. Here is the lovely @jenamiller. Here’s a guy waiting in line to get his hot dog from Japadog, a Japenese hot dog street cart. Here’s the view from our hotel room later that evening.

New Business Cards

I just got new business cards and I’m pretty excited to start handing them out! My last batch was from 2008 and my work has changed a lot since then. My style is cleaner and more polished so I wanted to really reflect that with my marketing materials. I’m a versatile shooter and I wanted my cards to show that idea as well so there are 7 different cards to choose from. I had some help on the design from […]

Vancouver Day 2 – Granville Island

Everyone suggested that Granville Island was a must visit so we did. It’s a pretty cool little touristy shopping area with a famous public market. We roamed around for a bit, tried a few things, and ate dinner there too.

Vancouver Day 2 – Bridge to Granville Island

Day 2 in Vancouver started with a great morning meeting with the Vancouver Photo Workshops to chat about workshoppers.org. They have some pretty awesome photography workshops, so check them out! After that we decided to check out Granville Island and the Public Market. We walked from our hotel to the island, which meant a long stroll across the Granville Bridge, and we got some great views.

Vancouver Day 1

This was my first visit to Canada. Been wanting to check out Vancouver for awhile now. I’ve always heard that it was one of the greatest cities in North America. The city was awesome and beautiful but perhaps a bit overhyped. It felt a little bit like a very relaxed New York City. Here are a few shots from the first day as we strolled around in the area known as Gastown. Here’s a guy who helped us decide where […]

Abstract shots from Train

While on the train from Seattle to Vancouver, I was messing around with a longer shutter speed to get some funky effects. Here are a few I thought were fun.

The Train from Seattle to Vancouver

This is the first in a series of posts covering my recent trip to Seattle and Vancouver with the lovely @jenamiller. We took an Amtrak train from Seattle to Vancouver. It was awesome! Definitely a good way to travel. I’m not the only one thinking that either. Evidently Amtrak is experiencing record ridership. It was spacious, non-crowded, had free wi-fi, had lounge cars with food and drink sales, plenty of room for luggage, and had huge windows for great views […]

Charlee gets a short studio session

So while I was getting everything set up and tested for those studio shots of Eli, I had my dog, Charlee, stand in for him. She didn’t like the camera and wasn’t a good model, but I did get these two fun shots of her.

Eli’s Final Studio Session

Meet Eli- a 17 year old Dalmatian mix. He was my roommates companion. I took these pictures right before Eli went to the vet for his final nap. He was having some health issues and it was time. I consider it an honor to have such a handsome and distinguished gentleman pose for my camera.

Peanut Butter Oreos

Peanut Butter Oreos

I just found out that Peanut Butter Oreos are SO much better than regular Oreos! They just so happened to be the first subject of my new home photography studio. I’ll probably be posting more studio photography over the next few months as I work to expand my studio skills.

Some delicious salmon

My girlfriend is an excellent cook and sometimes I’ll snap a few pics of her awesome cooking. Here’s a shot of some salmon with orzo, tomatos, onions, and capers.
