Lots of random thoughts…

I haven’t posted much of anything in the last few weeks. I’m not completely sure why. I actually have the time to post and I have plenty of things I could post about, but for some reason I’m not inclined to post anything. I think it is at least partly because I’m in transition. I’m working on my plans for the future and until I get a little further along in those plans I don’t want to post about it. It could partly be that the photo hosting site I use to easily store the images used in my blog posts is down lately due to a physical move/upgrade. I’ve gotten into the habit of posting images along with any text, so without images I’m less eager to post stuff. It could be that I have lots of work to do with a tight deadline and would feel guilty for posting things instead of working. It could be that I don’t have a good feng-shui going on right now and it makes me not want to post. I’m not sure what it is.

Yesterday, Thursday, two of my good friends moved out of Arkansas to take new jobs. It’s a coincidence that they did it on the same day because, while they do know each other, they are moving to very different places and are taking very different jobs. But anyway, Congrats to Rainer and Jesah. I’m glad things are looking up for you both.

I sold some prints of my photos. This is something I’ve never done before and it makes me feel really good. Some of them were to strangers and it feels incredible that somebody who has never met me would look at my work and say to themselves, “wow, this photo is so good I have to buy a print.” I hope to sell more prints, but am not actively pursuing that source of income. I actually owe a big thanks to my friend Maryam for facilitating the sale of those prints.

I’ve spent over $300 on luggage in the last two weeks. I bought a really cool duffel bag with an aluminum frame and also bought a new camera backpack. These are part of my plan to maximize mobility. I’ll do another post later that should be rather interesting about my mobilityness.

I’m thinking of selling my 12″ Dell and getting a 17″ or 15″ Macbook Pro. I’ve convinced myself that I’m ready to trade one set of problems for another set of problems. I’ll see what my money situation is in a few months.

I’ve got lots of photo/video work in the oven right now and I’m trying to keep myself from getting stretched too thin. I hope to be able to start publishing several of these projects in a month or two. Maybe sooner if certain upcoming adventures go well.

I posted a short promo video I made for my friend’s new book over on www.herostatus.net and on www.youtube.com. The book is about how bands can market themselves and gives lots of tips and shares various success stories.

well I guess that’s all my random thoughts for now. Hopefully I will soon be in the mood to post more.
