Short film shoot problems

So I have been trying to find a time when I could get 2 very busy actors, my busy self, a certain camera that I don’t have constant access to, and some props that also being used in another film, together at the same time for about 2 hours to shoot the final scene for my short film “The Motive”.

It all came together this morning at 9:00am, which is a bit early for me on a saturday, but I was just happy to have a chance to get the dang thing done. However, there were some obstacles of course.

The scene is an outdoor scene and one of the problems we had before was bad weather everytime we tried to shoot. But it’s spring time in beautiful Arkansas, so I didn’t expect wind chills of 24 degrees and 30 MPH winds. Although perhaps I should have. Anyway, it was very cold and very windy which means I have a lot of audio problems to deal with. But that isn’t the worst problem. I can deal with those things.

For some reason, I developed severe chest pain. Like my diaphragm was having a charlie horse, although I wasn’t having any trouble breathing. It was painful and I almost couldn’t continue. But since I am so strong and manly and didn’t want to reschedule all this crap again, I fought off the pain and kept shooting.

I haven’t looked at the footage yet but I’m sure it won’t be as good as it could have been if I had been paying attention to what I was doing instead of worrying about why my body was betraying me.

(Don’t worry Mom, I’m okay now, the pain went away on it’s own! haha)
