Zooomr
Ever since I created my Herostatus website and started putting pictures on there, I’ve been facing the issue of picture hosting, sharing, and displaying. See, I want the best of all worlds. I want to have a custom hosting solution and retain control of the display of my pictures, however, I would like to enjoy the benefits of a photo community like Flickr or Sony ImageStation. So somewhere I have to compromise.
I eventually decided the photo community is a better feature to have than total control over the display and hosting abilities so I started looking around.
Flickr is a pretty good website but I was reluctant to pay the $25 for the pro account. Well a few months ago, Zooomr came along. Zooomr could well be called a Flickr clone, however it is more advanced and has some features that are really cool. What really attracted me to them was that they are giving free Pro Accounts to bloggers who sign up and post a picture that is hosted by zooomr. About half the pics on this blog are hosted by Zooomr.

If you are interested in reading the lowdown on the deal check this link. It’s 2.5 gigs per month of upload ability which is plenty for most people.
I haven’t been able to recommend them though, because they didn’t have a mass uploader. You had to upload your pics one at a time. If I am going to embrace a photo hosting they gotta have that feature. Well today I discovered they implemented a mass photo uploader so now I can honestly say I am happy with my service so far and you should check it out. My Zooomr page can be found at this link.
The list of features can be explored by clicking this link. They have Geotagging and Portals which are both pretty cool…
