update on freelance video projects
Well, I don’t have a specific topic to write about right now so I thought I would just mention how the video work is going.
I wrote and am trying to produce/direct a 5 min short film, but I’m having trouble finding someone who will let me use the camera I need. I think I need an assistant producer.
I am still finishing the Six Hung Sprung Live DVD, although I have a meeting with the band today to get the final approval before finalizing the work. I’m pretty happy with how most of it turned out.
I am working with a local producer to shoot and edit some local commercials. I’ve already edited two and have a couple more already in the pipeline to shoot and edit. This same producer wants me to shoot and edit his 30 min pilot for a television show.
Basketball season just kicked into gear, which means lots of video board operation work. This year we got a new piece of equipment that will make my life in the control booth a lot better, but it means I have to go in early before games to get it programmed correctly. It’s possible I will create more cool graphics this season, but not sure when I will find the time to do it.
I have a project sitting on my desk that I’m thinking of backing out of. It is editing eight 30 min episodes of an art show that will be put on dvd and sold to homeschooling parents. This project isn’t paying up front so the time invested in doing it will only get rewarded if the producer actually makes money from it.
Somebody wants me to edit together some footage and make a 5 min promo video about Earth Day. This project is still very early in the discussion stages.
I’ve already shot lots of footage at a Music Festival and am waiting on payment before starting to edit a 5 min promo.
The Music Hall is probably going to open a second venue in Rogers so I will need to make a commercial for that sometime soon.
I’ve been teaching a guy how to edit because he wants to learn. But he lives an hour away and I have to go to his place to teach him. He’s paying me well so I can’t complain.
I have been working on my demo reel, trying to make it better and have been applying to lots of video production jobs. I’m not sure what the problem is, but i’m not getting very much interest from the places that I send my stuff out to. That’s prolly the topic for another post.
Keep in mind, everything on this list comes on the evenings and weekends after my 9-5 job.

Hey Kendrick!
It sounds like all of your projects are turning into your very own buisness!
All of those contacts …. wow!
Wedding videos!! You should contact some of the loca wedding photographers to see if they want to offer your services too. Like YerbyWeddings.com and Hudsonphotos.com and there are several others. I think that could bring you a consistant pay check
Later tater..
This is all positive, but stop talking so much about yourself. Jeez.
[...] So here is an update on some of the projects I mentioned in {a much earlier post}. [...]
