My trip to Nashville!

My family invited me to go hang out with them in Nashville for a few days. My mom actually had to take a licensure test for her business, so my dad, brother and I tagged along to get away from home before school and work really kick in. So Sunday morning we embarked upon what might be the most photographically documented family vacation ever. See, my dad and brother are both photographers too and had their digital SLR cams with them most of the time. I carried mine with me a bunch, but if I didn’t have it, I had my trusty Palm 700p.

The Interstates in Tennessee suck and my parents had to consult a map to get us to our hotel in Nashville around 9:30ish.

I immediately found the pool but it was too cold for swimming, although I did get waist deep. After that we were a little hungry so we went to find some fast food. Problem is, it was midnight so not much was open. We drove around for awhile before finally finding a White Castles that was open for 24 hours a day. I’ve never eaten there, but I knew what to expect, my dad and brother didn’t, so they weren’t prepared for the tiny size of the burgers. Needless to say they won’t be going back to White Castles anytime soon. I got some chicken rings and 3 burgers. The burgers were terrible but the chicken rings were pretty good.

Monday morning I slept in for awhile then we did a little shopping downtown, drove around, saw a car on fire, ate some lunch, did some more shopping at the HUGE Opryland Mall.

Then my parents went to see an Elvis impersonator and my brother and I watched World Trade Center.

I’ll write up my review of World Trade Center soon.
Then we came home and I snapped this picture of some lighting.

Tuesday morning we got up and we went to the Nashville Zoo. It was a small zoo with only around 30 exhibits but they were pretty good. The problem was that the zoo was under major construction and the path wasn’t laid out well. We had to backtrack several times and it got to be pretty hot.

After the zoo, we went back and chilled at the hotel for awhile then we set out to do some night photography of the downtown nightlife.

On Wednesday we went to the replica of the Parthenon and took a few pics.

Then my mother finished taking her test and we went shopping again for a little while. Then went to the Opryland Hotel and took some pics of the lobby. This place was amazing…

While at the hotel we stayed for a show put on by the Peking Acrobats. They were pretty amazing.
